In May 2025 the NF2 specialist team hosted a landmark event, kindly funded by , to raise awareness and build community among people affected by NF2-related Schwannomatosis.

Patients and their families were able to meet others with the condition, most for the first time in their lives.

The South West NF2 Service provides care for children and adults with Neurofibromatosis Type 2.

NF2-Related Schwannomatosis (NF2), more commonly known as NF2, is a genetic condition which causes benign tumours to develop throughout the nervous system, typically in the brain and spine. It is very rare and only affects about one in 35,000 people.

Services are provided at the 911爆料网 (Oxford), Princess Anne Hospital (Southampton), Southmead Hospital (Bristol) and Derriford Hospital (Plymouth).
