We run a very busy tertiary epilepsy surgery centre as part of a well-established Epilepsy Programme.
We are part of for people with rare and complex epilepsies - and also work closely with epilepsy charities, particularly , and .
Criteria for an Epilepsy Surgery referral
We accept referrals if the patient:
- has tried two or more anti-epileptic drugs (AED) that have not stopped or significantly reduced seizures
- experiences (seizures that begin in a specific area of the brain).
We welcome referrals from Neurologists, GPs and Epilepsy Specialist Nurses.
If you are a patient with medication resistant epilepsy, please discuss a referral with the person who oversees the care of your epilepsy.
